And the Dr. said:

Thomas is growing very well and is developing on schedule. He's up to 13 lb., 10 oz. and is 24 inches long. However, shots were not fun this time, not that they were before. But, this time, Thomas had a reaction - fussy, fussy, fussy and a fever. 102.2. We were up most the the night and wound up going back to the doctor's office on Friday. She checked his ears and said they were "perfect" and that it was a good thing otherwise, we would be seriously talking tubes. He seems fine today. He is starting to be a bit clingly. Could we be spoiling him? Hmmm.

The Night Before...

Tomorrow is the big day. Our 4 month check up. The good news is we get to find out how much weight Thomas has gained and how much he has grown. The bad news is Thomas gets 3 or 4 shots! I'm already getting myself sick over it. Wish me luck.

Not again!

We were back in the doctor's office today. Another ear infection. This time we caught it early. Same routine -- antibiotics, Tylenol, rest and back to the doctor's in a week. The good news is Thomas is a very good patient. He's still smilely and eating well.

Here's the latest. Posted by Hello

All better...

for the most part. Thomas had his re-check at the doctor's today. Ears are clear. Hopefully we can make it through the rest of Spring without another cold or ear infection. He's still a little congested, but we can deal with that.

Food for Thought...

I am part of a wonderful group at my church. We are called CRHPers. CRHP stands for Christ Renews His Parish, which was a retreat I attended just as Tom and I started dating in March of 2003. It was during this retreat, that my spirit was renewed, and I met 30 or so wonderful women whom I am honored to call my sisters. We stay in touch, mainly through email now, and get together every couple months. Next week we will meet again and I am so looking forward to it.

We often share prayer requests for our family, friends and ourselves. Sometimes we our prayers are answered and we are elated. Other times it seems as if our prayers are going unheard. I ran the following and thought, “Wow.”

“Some people say God answers our prayers according to his timing. I think, however (depending on the nature of the request), more often than not it has more to do with our timing--that is, when we are ready and able to handle the answer.” From Daily Encounter, www.actsweb.org

A Funny for Thursday

My brother-in-law, Eric, sent this to me; however, Julie D.'s blog prompted me to post this.

Hope you enjoy!

The Washington Post's Style Invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are this year's winners:

1. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
2. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.
3. Giraffiti (n): Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.
4. Sarchasm (n): The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.
5. Inoculatte (v): To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.
6. Hipatitis (n): Terminal coolness.
7 . Karmageddon (n): It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.
8 .Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.
9. Glibido (v): All talk and no action.
10 .Dopeler effect (n): The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
11. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.
12. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.
13. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a grub in the fruit you're eating.
14. Ignoranus (n): A person who's both stupid and an, well you know!

What is your favorite?

What to say, what to say

Say anything! Feel free to post a comment, ask a question, or just say Hi! Scroll down, read the other posts and comments. We'd love to hear from you. I do not have everyone's email addresses, so if you want to pass this on to other family members, please do. Hopefully this can be a way for all of us to keep in touch.

Daycare dilemma

Tom and I have been juggling daycare for Thomas this week. Thomas is feeling much better. Thank God! I stayed home on Monday (I was sick) and Tom stayed home today (Jheri was sick). Tomorrow is up in the air. Jheri's son, Preston, is sick so we will need to juggle again. Ah, the joys of parenthood. Hopefully this will pass quickly and we will all be back on schedule. I know Aunt Jheri is missing her little Thomas.
